Sometimes the medical needs of critically ill babies or premature newborns
exceed the capabilities of the hospital where they are born.
Seton Family of Hospitals has maintained a
highly skilled specially trained neonatal transport team for more than 30
years serving 13 counties in Central Texas. This transport team is
proficient in both ground and air transports and is available 24 hours,
seven days a week. The team is comprised of neonatologists, neonatal
intensive care nurses and respiratory care therapists. On-going
communication between the referring hospital, physicians and neonatologists
continues during and after the transport of critically ill infants to one of
the network’s three Level 3 Neonatal Units in Austin.
